All About Eve

SKU: N/A Category:

Women the world over still find themselves born into a life of inequality, exploitation and persecution. At one extreme, this discrimination can deny them an education and rights over their bodies; at the other, equal status with men in many areas of life. Much of the blame for this can be levelled at the concept of ‘original sin’, which through many of the major organised religions has woven itself into societies and legal systems. This painting portrays a universal Eve, metaphorically chained from birth and treated as no more than a chattel; the fabled apple sits rotting in front of her, uneaten. Winner of third place in the international Fine Art America competition, ‘The Art of Social Commentary’. Awarded features in seven separate galleries on the Fine Art America website. This is an original free-hand painting carried out on a Wacom graphics tablet.
